A Huge Thank You to all turned out to support the concert on Friday night.  The hall was full and the programme of entertainers was outstanding, especially the younger members of the cast.  Thanks to Jimmy Law for putting together the programme and all of the Mission and Outreach team plus others on the night for helping to make it such a success.  Also thanks to those who contributed so generously to the Raffle.  The total raised on the night was £607. Thank you.

Top Team Competition

What a great night this turned out to be with 10 teams competing for the trophy first fought for 30 years ago in 1989 and won then by The Young Women's Group.  Tonight, however, the victors were the Badminton team but a very close run thing against the Scout Leaders.  In fact there were many close results throughout the evening.  Teams involved were - Country Dancing, Guild & Rural, Session, Friday Zone, Scouts, Badminton, Scout Leaders, Explorer Scouts, Skelmorlie & Wemyss Bay Session and their Sound and Screen team. Congratulations to Gordon Brown our question master and ably assisted by his brother Stuart and his wife Sharon.  This was a great chance to show how our new Sound and Screen system can be used for other events than just Sunday Services.

Eco Group Honoured in Green Awards

Fantastic result for the team.

A CHURCH of Scotland congregation has been honoured for its environmental work in a prestigious UK-wide green awards ceremony.

The eco-group of Inverkip Parish Church was shortlisted in the Church Times Green Awards in the Green Congregation category – the only Church of Scotland congregation to be shortlisted at the awards, which took place in London on Monday. The church set up an eco-group in 2016 and has made remarkable progress, according to Convener, Hilary Cameron.

Outlining the work undertaken by the congregation, Hilary explained:The group was recognised for their significant achievements in just over 12 months since they were formed through having monthly Fairtrade stalls, recycling everything from postage stamps to bat dirt, supporting the youth club building a bug hotel and organising litter picks in the local area.”

Hilary and the church’s Depute Session Clerk Morag Cowe attended the award ceremony at Lambeth Palance. They were presented with a highly commended certificate by the Bishop of Salisbury, the Rt Rev Nick Holtam.
